Litigation Support Case Studies
When two organizations entered legal proceedings concerning theft of intellectual property, the initial electronic evidence discovery resulted in claims of spoliation. MANDIANT was hired by a special master to review the contents of over 75 computer systems in order to find materials responsive to the ongoing litigation. We responded by preserving the electronic evidence, and then culling through both logical file space as well as unallocated space, where file fragments of previously deleted files may reside. MANDIANT worked with both parties to identify the right criteria, to include keywords, in order to appropriately minimize the data produced to both parties for review. We produced responsive logical files (in native format) as well as keyword “hits” found within unallocated space. MANDIANT provided the materials to both parties for review in a manner that was organized, timely, and simple for review.
