Mandiant Opens New Reston Office to Accommodate Rapidly Growing Software Engineering Team
Located at 1851 Alexander Bell Drive in the heart of the Dulles Technology Corridor, Mandiant's Reston hub will attract quality software engineering talent as demand surges
Mandiant, the leader in advanced threat detection and response solutions and services, today announced it has opened an office in Reston, Va., to accommodate its growing product development team. Located at 1851 Alexander Bell Drive, the 3,115-square-foot office is expected to eventually house approximately 25 Mandiant software engineers and product development staff, offering easier commuting access and a rewarding career experience.
“Herndon, Reston, and the rest of the Dulles corridor have a great talent pool, and we think we’re offering one of the most dynamic and rewarding career experiences in the market,” said Mandiant Chief Technology Officer Dave Merkel, who leads the product development organization. “Our technology is on the front lines of some of the most prominent information security breaches. We need to grow our innovation capacity to keep pace with today’s dynamic threats.”
Despite the nation’s challenging economic times, Mandiant has grown substantially each year, and in 2010, recorded a 31.5 percent increase in hiring. The pace of growth continues to increase.
In May, Mandiant launched the second generation of Mandiant Intelligent Response® (MIR), the company’s flagship incident response solution. MIR provides the most advanced threat detection available, enabling information security professionals to proactively identify and respond to compromised systems at the endpoint. MIR has become the critical technology required to combat advanced, targeted threats.
