MANDIANT Corporation, a leading provider of incident response and computer forensics services and solutions, today announced Aaron LeMasters, one of the security industry’s leading experts on malware analysis and incident response, has joined the company as a Senior Software Engineer. LeMasters will serve on the MANDIANT Intelligent Response and Host Analysis teams, and advance MANDIANT’s industry commitment to high quality training and breakthrough freeware development.
LeMasters joins MANDIANT from SI Government Solutions, a Raytheon Information Security Solutions subsidiary, where he was responsible for vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and tool kit development. Prior to Raytheon, LeMasters served as a Senior Intrusion Analyst on the Incident Response and Recovery Team (IRRT) at the Department of Defenses’ Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). At DISA, LeMasters conducted onsite collateral damage assessment; volatile data collection in a forensically-sound manner; drive imaging and acquisition; malware analysis; and reverse engineering.

LeMasters is a co-author of Hacking Exposed: Malware and Rootkits, (October 2009, McGraw-Hill). He earned a Master of Science, Computer Science and Information Assurance, from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Mississippi State University.
He holds the following certifications and government clearances: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Software Test Professional, SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), DISA Level I and II Administrator, TS/SCI Clearance, including Counter Intelligence polygraph.
LeMasters has been invited to speak at a number of Information Security industry conferences, including Phreaknic, Blackhat USA, Outerzone, and the NSA Red/Blue Team Symposium.
