MANDIANT Intelligent Response Now Available on GSA IT Schedule 70 Contract (GS-35F—0168W)

Jul 07, 2010
Government agencies now have direct access to MANDIANT incident response and computer forensics solutions and expertise, enabling MANDIANT to better serve the needs of the federal IT community.

Alexandria, Va., July 7, 2010 - MANDIANT, the leader in incident response and computer forensics solutions and services, today announced its flagship incident response management solution, MANDIANT Intelligent Response® (MIR), is now available on the GSA Schedule 70 Contract (GS-35F-0168W). Government agencies now have direct access to purchase MIR in addition to MANDIANT’s portfolio of incident response and computer forensics solutions and services.  MIR, the information security industry’s first enterprise-scale incident response management solution, accelerates the collection and analysis of data in support of incident response, electronic discovery and internal investigations.

“We are pleased to add MANDIANT Intelligent Response to our GSA IT Schedule 70 contract,” said MANDIANT Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Travis Reese. “Our first-to-market technology has a proven ability to sweep an entire enterprise and eliminate the most advanced threats through deployments in some of the world’s largest organizations. We are committed to supporting our nation’s government agencies and look forward to putting new capabilities in the hands of their experts.”

Built from frontline experience, MIR supports the entire incident response process. MIR enables organizations to capture evidence, determine the scope of compromise, assess damage, and sweep thousands of systems to ensure threats are completely eliminated.  MIR combines the latest host-based forensic capture techniques with a massively scalable, network-based acquisition and analysis engine, delivered as an easy-to-deploy appliance.

Beyond incident response, MIR transforms traditional proactive security practices by effectively sweeping organizations for new compromises. As MANDIANT consultants respond to incidents worldwide, they create new Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) that accurately describe a threat without the shortcomings of traditional malware signatures.  Updated frequently, IOCs are provided to all MIR customers, granting an unprecedented level of assurance that their networks are protected.

“Legacy controls and conventional wisdom are failing us. Security teams need better eyes and ears to spot the warning signs and pick up the whispers and echoes of adaptive persistent adversaries,” said Joshua Corman, Research Director for Enterprise Security at The 451 Group. “Outright threat prevention is an elusive goal, which makes agile detection and response a critical discipline in modern enterprises of all sizes. We are pleased to see firms like Mandiant furthering such capability with the federal environment.”
