Sep 17, 2008
(MIR) 1.2 expands enterprise incident response capabilities

MANDIANT, the elite provider of information security products and consulting services, announced the availability of MANDIANT Intelligent Response (MIR) 1.2. The latest version of MIR enhances data gathering capabilities; expands agent platform support; and enables content-driven data acquisition.

MIR 1.2 contains many new features, including:

Content-driven file discovery & acquisition:
MIR searches for data throughout the enterprise by analyzing files and the data inside them. MIR returns only the data of interest and can preserve files in evidence containers for safekeeping and further investigation.

Advanced memory forensics:
With this release, MIR expands its advanced memory forensic features adding more features across a broader range of supported platforms than other forensic products. Features include rootkit hook detection and targeted process memory acquisition. The MIR Agent adds support for Windows XP SP3.

Enhanced scalability and reliability: Building on its already significant enterprise capabilities, this release increases performance and stability, allowing responders to get more out of the MIR solution.

MANDIANT President and CEO Kevin Mandia noted, “The 1.2 release of MIR is a significant step in the MIR roadmap. ” Mandia added, “The advanced capabilities available in MIR allow us to continue to provide invaluable support to our clients combating the advanced persistent threat.”
