MANDIANT Expands Professional Services Management Team

MANDIANT welcomes Stephen L. Surdu as new Vice President of Professional Services; promotes Bret Padres to Director of Incident Response.

Alexandria, Virginia - January 8, 2007

MANDIANT, an elite provider of information security services, announced today that Stephen L. Surdu will join the company as its new Vice President of Professional Services.  He will manage the continued growth of MANDIANT’s consulting and education teams and ensure that the company continues its track record of excellent client service. 

“Steve’s 25 years experience in directing consulting and technology groups will be a great asset for MANDIANT,” stated Jim Hansen, the company’s Chief Operating Officer. “Steve’s proven success with both the private sector and government agencies will be critical in our expansion of the services group in North America and globally.”

Surdu was formerly the Vice President of Solution Services at SYSCOM, Inc., where he managed the professional services division.  Prior to that he was with Foundstone/McAfee in their Washington, D.C. office.  Steve holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. 

MANDIANT also announced that Bret Padres has been promoted to Director of its Incident Response program.  Bret is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) with over twenty years experience in the field of information security, computer forensics, law enforcement and counterintelligence matters.

Prior to joining MANDIANT, Bret was the Director of Cyber Operations with Athena Innovative Solutions.  He was also a Special Agent with the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General, and a Special Agent in the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations.  Bret holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Excelsior College.
