MANDIANT Launches Threat Identification Program

Consulting and Technology Combine to Identify Malicious Activity and Advanced Persistent Threats

MANDIANT, an elite provider of information security consulting services and solutions, introduced their Threat Identification Program (TIP) today. TIP combines the Company’s professional services with its recently-launched MANDIANT Intelligent Response technology to seek out malicious activity and advanced persistent threats throughout an enterprise’s network.

MANDIANT responds to computer security incidents on a consistent basis, witnessing the rapid proliferation of compromise throughout client networks and recognizing trends in the types and sources of threats targeting those systems. Organizations dealing with persistent threats require enhanced capabilities to effectively identify, scope and remediate these threats within their enterprise.

MANDIANT’s Threat Identification Program is targeted for security professionals and incident responders in government agencies, the Defense Industrial Base and the commercial sector. Through network monitoring, host-based monitoring and signature detection, TIP is successful in identifying malicious activity that hides in routine network traffic or that lies dormant until it is required to maintain access to the network. MANDIANT Intelligent Response technology is leveraged in TIP to review thousands of systems in an expedited manner, looking for specific indicators of compromise or to investigate anomalous network activity from a host. Clients are able to conduct static and dynamic analysis of hostile programs and rapidly deploy signatures to identify or respond to potential incidents.

By implementing TIP, organizations will know if they have a persistent threat and will not have to spend significant amounts of time conducting tactical remediation prior to understanding the extent of the compromise. "We have combined our professional service experience with our MIR technology to develop advanced tactical countermeasures to mitigate persistent threats," said Kevin Mandia, President & CEO of MANDIANT.
